Google Cloud & Midnight Partner to Enhance Privacy on Cardano

Midnight Google Cloud

In a significant development for the blockchain industry, Google Cloud has partnered with the Midnight Foundation, a privacy-focused sidechain within the Cardano ecosystem, to bolster network infrastructure and security. Announced in late September 2025, this collaboration marks a notable step toward integrating enterprise-grade cloud services with cutting-edge blockchain technology.

The partnership positions Google Cloud as a key operator of Midnight validators, critical components that secure the network by processing transactions and maintaining consensus. Validators on the Midnight network require staking $ADA, which incentivizes participation and enhances decentralization. This move not only strengthens the technical backbone of Midnight but also signals growing institutional interest in privacy-preserving blockchain solutions.

Beyond validator operations, Google Cloud is bringing its expertise in Confidential Computing to the table, providing advanced data protection for sensitive transactions. Additionally, Mandiant, Google Cloud’s cybersecurity arm, will contribute threat monitoring and incident response services to safeguard the network. To foster developer engagement, Google Cloud is offering up to $200,000 in cloud credits through its Google for Startups Web3 Program, enabling builders to create applications on Midnight’s privacy-centric platform.

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, has publicly endorsed the partnership, emphasizing its potential to add substantial value to the ecosystem. The collaboration aligns with Midnight’s mission to deliver secure, scalable, and privacy-focused solutions for decentralized applications, particularly in industries like finance and healthcare where data confidentiality is paramount.

This partnership reflects a broader trend of cloud providers integrating with blockchain networks to address scalability, security, and developer accessibility. As Midnight continues to evolve, Google Cloud’s involvement could accelerate adoption and drive innovation in privacy-preserving technologies.
